We Have Returned

So the big secret was that I went to Disneyland with my family for a few days.  It’s a great time of year to visit Disney and California weather cooperated with us, warm but over cast so never really uncomfortable.

One of my favorite parts of visiting either of the Disney resorts is the joy of eating.  This time we visited the Blue Bayou, Catal and Tortilla Joes.  The Blue Bayou won for our favorite of the three with the gumbo appetizer being our absolute favorite.  I would have happily eaten a large bowl of the gumbo and gone home happy.  We also tried a creme brulee there which was absolutely killer.

I think one of the best things about the experience was sharing the meals with our kids.  Both the 13 year old and 9 year old were fantastic eaters and dove into the experience trying jambalaya and octopus and never turning their noses up at trying something new.  This was a great time to share with them and to talk about the things they liked and disliked and what was going on in their lives.

Once I find my camera cord so I can download the pictures we’ll share some of what we ate.
