So here in Utah today is a State Holiday. It’s Pioneer Day which is a chance to think about the folks who first settled Utah, LDS settlers and others. It’s also a day for extra fireworks and spending time with the family.
Many of my ancestors made the unforgiving journey from the east to the west and I’m grateful for the sacrifices they offered to bring us here. They brought a heritage of hard work, faith, wisdom, family togetherness, good cooking and happy eating… I hope we do their memories proud.
